The history of the Dark Moon piece dates back to the Native American. This was a special hunting ground as well as a village for a small group of Native Americans. Many artifacts have been found at the edge of this area.
There is a large field with a meadow and stream, and a nearby cedar forest. At the back of this piece there is a large, deep deciduous forest consisting of several sinkhole ponds and some swampy areas. Coyotes and black bear frequent this area also.
